PREPARATIONS FOR SEASON RE-START

We are still awaiting advice from the FA as to when training and games can re-start and in the meantime, we would like to advise you that we are continuing to work behind the scenes on re-scheduling fixtures. These will be published as soon as we can, once we have a start date.

As well as having to cope with the above, you may have noticed that OKS has started to creak and groan of late and we have been advised by OKS that due to the age of their servers and programmes, they will not be able to continue operation beyond the end of this season.

Therefore, it looks like we will have to move to the FA's whole game and full time systems next season, however, in order to keep OKS running for the remainder of this season, we need to downsize the amount of data stored on the servers.

As an added security precaution, OKS have advised that we should also remove parent details from the system and amend all player details so they are no longer identifiable.

However, before changing any player records, we need to ensure that all teams requiring photo ID, have current photo ID sheets downloaded. Could you please therefore do this asap and let your divisional secretary know when you have done this.

Having downloaded your photo ID sheet, we would then ask that you delete parent details and amend all player details so they are no longer identifiable.

To do this, please follow the steps below:-

1. Open each player card and where parent details exist, select “remove parent details”.

2. select “Edit player details” and re-name the player with a "phantom" name such as abc, 123 etc, You can use the same for all players if you wish.

3.Change the date of birth to 1/1/2000 and school to none - note without entering dob and school you are unable to save changes.

4.Remove the address and any other details from the player cards and “save changes”

Again once you have done this for all players, please let your divisional secretary know.

Once the season has ended OKS will then permanently delete all data before closing the system down.

Many thanks for your assistance
