Josh Harrop the Offerton lad who scored at Old Trafford

Josh played for Spurley Hey from U7’s to U10’s before being scouted by Manchester United. After working his way up through the academy Josh was eventually handed his first-team debut by Jose Mourinho and to top the day off Josh scored the only game of the game in a 1 – 0 win against Crystal Palace.

Josh chose the offer of Preston over a stay at Manchester United and signed a four-year contract in the summer of 2017

Josh featured in 38 Championship games in his first season with Preston, he just narrowly missed out on a Play-Off spot, but an ACL injury in a game against West Brom early in the following campaign kept him out of action for just short of 12 months.

He made the perfect return from being side-lined, scoring on his first start back on home turf against Stoke City, and he went on to have his most fruitful season yet in senior football, hitting five goals from midfield in 32 league games.

Everyone at Spurley Hey is extremely proud of Josh and his achievements
